A Business mindset

When I started with an online business I had no idea that it had to be treated like a business down the street. I read an article which stated that I’m the CEO of my online business and it changed my mind completely. I never thought of myself as a business owner.
It shows that you need to change your mindset when starting a business. With a changed mindset I can change my future. I grew up with just the basics and we never had enough for a luxury. We were only spoilt at the end of the year during summer vacation – new clothes for Christmas, going to the beach for a week, presents under the Christmas tree. Up till today I am very much aware of saving – water, electricity, food, etc. – but find it difficult to save money. Until I changed my mindset towards money! Money must work for me, I must not work for money.
Having a business online has taught me to become confident and determined, two issues that I struggled with in the past. I told myself that I CAN SUCCEED. And so YOU CAN too.

Some key factors in setting up your business that I have learnt:
·         What is your goal? Or five year plan?
·         What are you planning (steps) to reach those goals?
·         Have you drawn up a budget? What do you have to spend?

What are some qualities I need to be a successful business person? My A-G tips!
  • Attitude – be positive and believe that this can work for you.
  •  Be the best leader, mentor, coach, entrepreneur!
  •   Commitment – to see that this is a success.
  •   Discipline – making time for my business and prioritize my tasks for the day.
  •   Engage with others by building up good relationships – we can learn from our team members, from other business leaders, from clients.
  •   Face the challenges, obstacles and risks that a business can bring.
  •   Give – of yourself to your team; of your expertise to empower your team; of your resources to build your team’s efforts. “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
“There is a price to pay to grow. Commitment is the price.” – Ed Cole.
